Tell George you want "Marco's RV design".  ;-)  The prices are the same as his regular "Maplights" for Land Cruisers.

Benefits:

Nice and pure white light.  This is not a yellow incandescent bulb.

Good beam pattern.  It is a wide smooth light, unlike traditional LEDs.

Extremely low amp draw  (0.1 amps per hour according to my Link 10, but probably closer to 0.2 amps per hour due to the Link 10's minimum resolution).  This is great for people that don't want to run a generator or forgetful people like me.

Long life and vibration resistant.  There's no filament like an incandescent bulb.

The seller was willing to customize to meet my application needs.

Drawbacks:

More expensive than a regular 1141 bulb.

Flex in the aluminum plate due to hitting the 1141 base (Fault was in my design).  Please note:  This is a prototype and I was the guinea pig.  This minor design problem was immediately resolved as soon as I let George see the pictures.  If you get these, you will not have this problem.

The front of the light.  The center of the two "stars" is the light source.  These are two 1 watt Luxeon Star LEDs.

This is the back of the light.  Notice the 1141 base that is make to be a direct plug-in.

Here it is installed w/ the cover on.

The install was quite simple.  Just drill 4 small holes (3/16") in the soft aluminum and reuse the same screws that hold the light to the ceiling.

There is some flex (problem resolved in future design) in the aluminum due to the 1141 socket in the base of the dome light assembly.

Another side view.

Here is the light turned on during the day.

Here's a side view of the 1141 socket that makes the aluminum flex.

This problem has been resolved w/ the current design:  I used a utility knife (razor blade) to trim the plastic dome light cover.  It made a better fit this way, due to the 1141 socket flexing aluminum.  This was very easy to do.

Here's a night time picture of the double 1 watt Luxeon unit turned on.  It was actually brighter to my eye than the camera depicts.

Another night time picture take directly of the nice and WHITE dome light... No more yellow light like the regular incandescents.

This is a night view of my Link 10 display.  This is the amp draw with one of the double 1 watt Luxeon units turned on.  If the resolution was better on the Link 10, I'd expect it to be somewhere in the 0.2 A/hr range.  That is much better than a 18 watt incandescent 1141 bulb. If you left this Luxeon LED light on 24 hours a day for an entire week, you would still have plenty of battery left!

This is a single 5 watt Luxeon Star LED.  This was "special" and made at my request.  The amp draw on this unit is expected to be in the 0.45 amps per hour neighborhood.  It will put out twice the light of the double 1 watt unit.

The back of the 5 watt unit is the same as the other double 1 watt unit.
